Angie Dickinson nasceu em Kulm - 1931, filha do Sr. e Sra. L. H. Marrom. O Sr. Marrom era o editor do jornal de Kulm. A família saiu de dakota do norte em 1942 quando Angie tinha 11 anos, mudando-se para Burbank,CA. Em dezembro de 1946. Quando Angie fazia mestrado na High School de Bellamarine Jefferson em Burbank ganhou a sexta competição anual de beleza nessa comunidade. Dois anos mais tarde sua irmã Janet do mesmo modo. Angie no início teve vontade de se formar como escritora mas desistiu após ter ganhado sua primeira competição de beleza. Após ter terminado a faculdade trabalhou como secretária para uma firma de Burbank foi funcionária por 3 anos e 1/2. Em 1953, participou da competição local para senhorita América. Em agosto do mesmo ano era uma das cinco vencedoras em uma competição de beleza patrocinada pela NBC. sua primeira atuação foi em um filme dos irmãos Warner em 1954 e ganhou fama com a série da televisão millionaire em 1956. Seu sucesso disparou então até que se transformar numa das maiores estrelas de cinema.
